Communication Guide

how to talk about PUQUU

PUQUU in a nutshell

hiii!

PUQUU is a new kids' brand from Poland built around one idea: play is everything. We make creative tools that get kids off screens and into the mess – crayons, markers, paints, doodle rolls – built for their ideas, not ours. We believe children don't need more limits. They need more space to create, explore, get messy and dream.

What makes us different: we co-create collections with artists – Susie Hammer, Piotr Karski, Jakub Dyc and titeepex – so every product comes with a story.

Creative StudioDraw, paint, experiment. Ideas run free.
Sensory PlaySquish, squeeze, explore. The senses lead.
LifestyleEveryday objects that bring colour and a smile to everyday routines.

FAQ about the brand

what clients ask

Where does the name PUQUU come from?

From the Polish "puk puk" – the sound of knocking, like "knock knock" in English. PUQUU is a playful, childlike take on it: a little knock on the door that invites you in to play.

Where is PUQUU from?

PUQUU is a new kids' brand from Poland, created by the team behind YAMANN – a Polish distribution company with years of experience building international design and lifestyle brands. New brand, not new to retail. We're building it for an international audience from day one.

Who is PUQUU for?

Kids first. Always. But we also design for the parent, grandparent or gift-giver choosing the product. The range goes from 1+ to 99+ – some products are just as good for kidults.

Where are the products made?

PUQUU is developed and designed in Poland. Our products are manufactured with selected partners in China, and we work closely with them on quality, safety and the little details that make a product feel like PUQUU.

Are the products safe?

Yes – safety is non-negotiable. All PUQUU products go through rigorous testing and meet the relevant EN 71 safety requirements. Products designed for use on the skin go through additional testing and are made to cosmetic-grade standards.

What about sustainability?

We prefer real details over big claims. We look closely at materials, packaging, recyclability and cutting unnecessary plastic. Some products use certified paper, but this differs from SKU to SKU – so ask us about a specific product and we'll give you the exact answer.

What makes PUQUU different?

We sit between creative play, sensory play, lifestyle and design – with a strong attitude towards play. A product needs to win twice: the kid thinks "I want that", the grown-up thinks "yes, I'd buy that".

Who are the artists?

Susie Hammer (Happy Clock), Piotr Karski (Stick & Draw Doodle Roll), Jakub Dyc (Artist Tattoo Collection) and titeepex (Sticker Stories), with a new collection by Sarah Matuszewski coming soon. Working with artists exposes kids to high-quality illustration and helps them build their own sense of aesthetics.

Is it an educational toy?

Not in the classic sense. We're about free play: no rules, no right answers. Creativity and confidence come naturally when kids play their own way.

What languages are on the packaging?

Most products have up to 17 languages on the pack; smaller packs have fewer. If a language is missing, we provide the required product stickers to retailers free of charge.

Does PUQUU sell directly to consumers?

Yes, through puquu.com. We keep recommended retail prices and don't use our own shop to undercut retail partners, though we may run seasonal promotions from time to time.

Is there in-store material?

Yes – we're building a full PUQUU in-store toolkit (displays, shopping bags, shelf wobblers, posters, floor stickers), rolled out step by step. For the launch we can loan selected stores a large PUQUU display and provide shopping bags. Tell us what else would help.

Does PUQUU give back?

Through PUQUU Play Forward we support art education for kids together with Zachęta – National Gallery of Art in Warsaw.
